Parenting SortedBack to the guide

Our story

It started with one mother, one job to go back to, and no one to ask.

A mother holding her baby, drawn in the Parenting Sorted style

Every guide is illustrated by hand. No stock photos, no machine-made faces.

A mother in our family went back to work when her baby was a few months old. She had a good job, a good husband, and no family in the same city. What she did not have was anyone who could tell her, plainly, how to hire someone to look after her child.

So she did what every mother does. She searched. She asked in WhatsApp groups. She got forty opinions, three phone numbers, and a lot of advice that was either obvious or wrong. Nobody could tell her what a nanny in her city actually costs, what to ask in an interview, how police verification works, or that the law makes her home a workplace from the day the first person is hired. She found all of that out the hard way, over months.

That is the gap this business exists to close. Parenting Sorted is owned and run by a mother, built with her family, and written for the woman who is competent, educated, used to solving problems by research, and has discovered that on this one subject, research makes the fear worse.

We do not sell secrets. There are no secrets. We sell the decision, laid out in the order you will meet it, checked against the actual law and the actual numbers, with the sheet to fill in at each step. The kind of thing you would get from an older sister who had read the law and had done it twice.

How the guides are made

Research first. Then a second pass tries to prove it wrong.

26,235messages from seven Indian mothers' WhatsApp groups, read and counted before a word was written
899distinct senders whose questions decided what the guides cover, and in what order
11errors found and fixed in the first draft of The Nanny System by an adversarial fact-check against primary sources
0testimonials on this website until real customers write them, unprompted and unpaid
  1. We start from what mothers actually ask. Not from what sells. The nanny question came up in every one of the seven groups, more than twice as often as anything else. That is why it is our first guide.
  2. Every fee, date and legal claim is checked against a primary source wherever one exists: the gazette, the Act, the government portal, the court order. Where a figure comes from a price list, a survey or a news report instead, the guide says so rather than dressing it up.
  3. Then a second pass tries to break it. Each guide goes through an adversarial fact-check whose only job is to find what is wrong. What cannot be verified is deleted, not softened.
  4. Where the law is unsettled, we say so. A guide that pretends to certainty it does not have is worse than no guide.
  5. A real mother reads it before it ships. Her first reaction to the full kit was "that will take me some time," which is why every guide now comes with a ten-minute Start Here card that is complete on its own.

What we will never do

  • Publish a fake review, a paid testimonial, or a testimonial written by us.
  • Show a crossed-out "original price" that nothing was ever sold at, or a countdown timer that resets.
  • Give medical advice. Nothing in any guide replaces your paediatrician, and the guides say so on their first page.
  • Sell or share your email or phone number with anyone.
  • Keep your money if the guide was not useful to you. Reply within 7 days and it is refunded in full, no questions asked.
